We’re looking for The Top 5IVE Changemakers in the region!

Capital Region Independent Media is holding an inaugural Top 5ive contest to identify the top changemakers in the communities we serve, and we are looking for your help! 

There are so many people who contribute to our region, who drive change in their communities and make them better places to live. We want to recognize and honor those achievements, and we are asking the community to help identify the region’s top changemakers. 

There are five categories that will be honored — the area’s top 5 women, men, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), youth ages 15-23, and businesses. 

Nominees must be people who live, work, attend school, or were raised in our service areas of Schoharie County. East Worcester, Worcester, and Stamford NY. This also includes students in Schoharie, SUNY Cobleskill and the towns mentioned above. 

Nominations will be accepted through March 31, 2025.

To submit a nomination, please fill out this form. and indicate why that person or business is being nominated.

Winners will be selected from a panel of business leaders in the communities in our North division, so they will not be familiar with or have personal connections to any of the nominees. There will be no conflict of interest with potential sponsors and/or people directly or indirectly connected to this event.

Winners will receive an award and an invitation to a dinner ceremony in their honor on Friday, May 9th, 2025.

We hope the community will take this opportunity to recognize the people who contribute to our community in a myriad of ways and make life better for all of us. 

Nominations are not votes. Please do not duplicate your nomination.
