HUDSON—The morning of December 9 at 11:18 a.m. the Hudson Police Department (HPD) received a call transferred from the New York State Police reporting that a survey crew on Mill Street in the City of Hudson discovered human skeletal remains.
HPD patrol and detective units promptly responded and confirmed human skeletal remains in a wooded area. HPD is actively working with the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Identification Unit to conduct a thorough investigation and identify the discovered remains. More information will be provided when available.
Livingston
On December 5, State Police assisted Hudson Police with the pursuit of a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox operated by a suspect known to have an active warrant out for his arrest.
The suspect, Anthony Price-Baynes, 31, of Pittsfield, MA, was taken into custody after striking a pursuing Hudson Police vehicle at the intersection of State Route 9H and State Route 82 in Livingston. Further investigation determined Mr. Price-Baynes and his passenger, Kimberly A. Longe, 32, also of Pittsfield, MA, were allegedly in possession of about 24.7 grams of fentanyl, 7 grams of heroin, and 0.4 grams of cocaine.
Mr. Price-Baynes was arrested for third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class B felony; attempted assault on a police officer and second degree criminal mischief, both class D felonies; unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second degree reckless endangerment, second degree criminal mischief and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all class A misdemeanors.
Ms. Longe was arrested for third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class B felony, and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.
Both subjects were arraigned before the Justice Michael Brandon in Claverack Court. Ms. Longe was released on her own recognizance with a return date of December 12 in Livingston Court. Mr. Price-Baynes was sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail and is also scheduled to appear in Livingston Court at a future date.

The morning of December 5 at 10:07, the Niverville Fire Department was dispatched for a car rolled over on Route 9, according to a NFD Facebook post. Upon arrival units found a car on its side with the occupant still inside. Members quickly worked to free the patient from the vehicle. Route 9 was reduced to one lane during this time. While clearing this accident NFD was dispatched to a second accident at County Route 28 / State Farm Road. The morning of December 4 at 9:14, the Niverville Task Force (which brings in Valatie Fire, Kinderhook Fire, Chatham Fire, Claverack Fire) was dispatched for a reported trailer fire. Shortly after dispatch Niverville Car 2 arrived and confirmed a working fire. NFD engine 45-13 arrived within minutes and began initial attack with the rest of the task force right on their tail, according to a NFD Facebook Post. Once it was determined to be an exterior attack Claverack Fire was canceled. But Stuyvesant Fire Company #1 was requested with a tanker. The quick knock down protected exposures on both sides, which were beginning to ignite. An oversized load transported by Edwards Moving & Rigging passed through the intersection of Routes 22 and 295 in Canaan, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. State Police Troop G, National Grid, Consolidated Communications, and escort vehicles were all headed north on Route 22. Power company employees can be seen holding the traffic lights out of the way to make room for the massive transport, reported to be a transformer enroute to the Port of Rensselaer from Poughkeepsie.
