ALBANY—Stash Wojeski departed peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn, February 5, 2025.
Raised in East Greenbush, he graduated in 1985 from Columbia High School. He began a life with his beloved wife Toni in Chatham. Together they built a beautiful home surrounded by the peaceful countryside and nature that he so loved. He had a very successful 25-year career at Aflac.
His love of family, home, country and friends was apparent to all who knew him. He had an infectious cheerful nature, intense love of politics, and civic duty. He was an avid beekeeper. He will also be remembered for his devotion as coach of the Chatham Reds Little League, member of the Lions Club, devoted Cowboys fan and golfer. He lived life to the fullest and accomplished much in his time. Although he is gone from among us, he lives in our hearts forever.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Antonette (Toni) Morrissey-Wojeski blessed with 18 years of marriage; beloved children, Ari Wojeski, Danielle Wojeski, Madelyn Peirce and Troy Peirce; cherished grandchildren, Celeste, Freya and Michael. He was loved by: sisters, Julie Hallenbeck, Suzanne Long (Brian); cherished by cousins and several nieces and nephews who all adored “Uncle Stashy.” He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley J. Wojeski, Sr., and is survived by his mother, Sally Wojeski.
In lieu of flowers to honor his passion for community and youth sports, a contribution may be made to the Wojeski Family Fund, Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region (CFGCR), 2 Tower Place, Albany (TIN 14-1505623). Calling hours were held February 8 at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Ave. Chatham. A memorial service followed at the funeral home.
A procession, burial and graveside service was held February 10 from the funeral home to Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 3rd Avenue Extension, Rensselaer.
