HUDSON—City Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred at 2:45 this morning Saturday October 25, between North First and North Second streets.
Officers, who were on Warren Street, about a block away monitoring the area, responded to a call of shots fired on First Street near the alley. As police were being dispatched, the victim called 911 reporting that he had been shot once.
Responding officers arrived at First and Warren streets and found the victim, a 21-year-old Hudson man with a single gunshot wound near his lower back.
The Greenport Rescue Squad arrived and took the victim to Columbia Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released at about 7 a.m.
The area of the reported shots was checked and processed by Hudson Police detectives and uniformed officers. No weapon or evidence was found.
No witnesses have been located or come forward at this time.
The victim is not cooperating with detectives. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated. State Police assisted Hudson Police on the scene.
