ALBANY—Kevin G. Herber, 63, passed away peacefully February 22, 2025 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his daughters and his family.
He was born in Hudson to the late John and Mary (Loeffler) Herber. He was one of eight children. He is survived by: his brothers, John (Jackie) Herber, Donald (Lisa) Herber; sisters, Donna Halstead, Sandy (Michael) Markessinis, and Missy (Timmy) Hotaling; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by: his brother, Dennis Herber and his sister, Phyllis Coons.
He is also survived by his twin daughters, Ashley and Paige Herber, who were the loves of his life. He loved his daughters with all his heart and enjoyed hanging out with them and his granddogs. Through his illness, his daughters were at his bedside everyday. They became his best advocates.
He was life member and president of Greenport Fire Co. #3. In his younger days he was a member of the Hudson Fire department. He enjoyed his time as a volunteer fireman and his firehouse friends were considered family. He has been residing at the John Funk Village Apartments for several years and made many lifelong friends.
A celebration of life was held March 1 at the Greenport #3 Firehouse, Washington Boulevard.
