ALBANY—Dylan Thomas Anderson, 19, of Ancram passed away peacefully March 4, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.

He was born in Albany, August 29, 2005, the only son of Arnold T. Anderson, Jr. and Sarah Anderson of Ancram. A lifetime resident of Ancram, he received his education from Taconic Hills Central School District and graduated in the class of 2023.

He was a member of SkillsUSA NYS, an organization described as “a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.” He also was a member of the National Technical Honors Society (NTHS) through Questar. In March 2023 he won first place in a regional construction competition.

He also played soccer and his hobbies and interests included ice fishing, fishing, building and gaming. He was known for his special sense of humor and will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by: his loving parents, Arnold T. Anderson, Jr. and Sarah Anderson; his beloved sisters, Amya Anderson (Terrence Halsey, Jr.) Ashlyn Anderson, Isabella Anderson and Gabrielle Anderson; his cherished grandmothers, Doreen Grand Baretsky and Helen Anderson; dear uncles, Charles Zuna (Donna Zuna), Keith Wheeler and Zachary Bray; and special friends: Devon Rueger, Alexis Ryan, Aaron Ryan and Joseph Ryan.

He was predeceased by: his maternal grandfather, James Baretsky; his great-great-grandmother, Ada Grand, and paternal grandfather, Arnold Anderson, Sr.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Ancram Fire Company, 1306 County Route 7, where a Service of Remembrance will be held. Per his wishes, he requested to remain in the place he called home.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Simple Choices, Inc., 218 Second Avenue, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to the Ancram Fire Company, 1306 County Route 7, Ancram 12502.
