HUDSON—Cleland J. Wynkoop, 80, of Stuyvesant passed away at Columbia Memorial Hospital after a brief illness February 15, 2025.

Born in West Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Cleland M. and Dorothy B. (Wasko) Wynkoop. “Cle” grew up in Clinton Corners, where he was a member of the East Clinton Fire Department. He worked for many years as a computer programmer for IBM in Poughkeepsie and was employed by Columbia Tractor as a salesman. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed riding his motorcycle and cherished his time spent hiking, camping and spending time at the Clove Valley Rod and Gun Club. He was also a sports enthusiast and loved playing volleyball at the Poughkeepsie Country Club as well as playing softball for various teams and bowling leagues. He was an animal lover, who especially loved his dogs. He was known for his sense of humor, always able to make everyone smile and laugh. Above all else he was a family man who had strong faith and an enormous love for God and his family.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Alice K. (Falke) Wynkoop; son, C. Michael (Erin) Wynkoop; daughter, Dawn (Jason) Ferdula; stepchildren, Kyung (Daniel Young) Masella and Jeslyn Masella; siblings, Theresa (Robert) Pick, John Wynkoop, Mary (Donald Scofield) Henschel and Elizabeth (Brian) Hicks; his loving grandchildren, Joe DiGregorio, Olivia Wynkoop, Wyatt Wynkoop, Kenzie Ferdula and Morgan Pietruszka. He will be missed by his faithful canine companion, Abby.

Visitation and a memorial service were held February 22 at the Albany Church of Christ, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Hunt or the Albany Church of Christ Benevolent Fund. Send all donations to the Albany Church of Christ, 30 Russell Road, Colonie 12205. Write on the memo line,”In Memory of Cle Wynkoop” and the fund the contribution should go to. Arrangements were with the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, LLC, 11 Elm Street, Nassau.
