Columbia County Fire Coordinators and Stockport Police assisted on scene. The Department of Environmental Conservation forest ranger was requested to scene.

Firefighters were still on scene at 5:27 p.m.

According to information posted on the Stuyvesant Fire Company’s Facebook page, units arriving first on the fire scene found a fully-involved garage along with surrounding smaller outbuildings also burning.

A second garage and a home were also identified as immediate exposure hazards.

Members from departments operating on scene of the garage fire were able to quickly knock down the heavy fire from the garage and prevented significant damage to the larger exposures.

While operating on the Stockport fire scene, Stuyvesant members were dispatched for a reported brush fire at 3 Rectory Lane in their district. An engine and tanker cleared from the scene in Stockport and responded to the brush fire. Two utility vehicles that were standing by in Stuyvesant quarters at the time, also responded.

Arriving units found a working brush fire that was advancing into a wooded area, firefighters reported on their Facebook page.

Quick arrival of apparatus prevented the brush fire from spreading further into the woods. About a quarter acre burned. Also operating on the brush fire scene were Stuyvesant Falls, Valatie and the Kinderhook fire departments.
