VALATIE—Leslie J. Astarita of Valatie, NY, and Dumont, NJ, passed away peacefully February 7, 2025. She is survived by her loving children: Robert, Patrick, Anne, Frank, Mary, Christopher and Tracy; her loving sons and daughters-in-law; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur (2000); her mother, Dolores Pacanda, and her grandson, Justin Mantz.
She was born in Hudson, April 25, 1946. She worked as a registered nurse for many years in both NY and NJ.
She was a beloved and active member of her community through St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Valatie Elves Group, Widows of Veterans Food Pantry of Columbia County, The Santa Claus Club of Valatie and St. Luke’s Community Dinners.
She was a dear friend to so many and was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be so missed. Cremation will be private. A memorial service will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie, April 26.
