HUDSON—An Albany man was charged by Hudson Police for allegedly holding a woman against her will.
Police arrested Najahliek Edmunds, 22, of Albany October 23, in connection with an incident at the Hudson Terrace Apartments that happened May 2.
Police say they got a call about a female being held against her will at 15 North Front Street, Apartment 3E (Hudson Terrace Apartments) and went there to investigate. Police arrived and were checking the apartment when they encountered Mr. Edmunds holding a large kitchen knife while standing in a dark room. He dropped the knife as ordered by police and was taken into custody.
The victim was quickly located and taken to safety at the police station.
Detectives processed the apartment crime scene which lead to Mr. Edmunds’ arrest for: third degree assault, third degree menacing and resisting arrest, all class A misdemeanors; menacing a police officer and third degree criminal possession of a weapon, both class D felonies.
On the night of the incident, Mr. Edmunds was wanted on an active Albany County probation warrant and was turned over to the Albany County Sheriff. He has been in the Albany County Jail ever since.
On October 23, Mr. Edmunds was arraigned in Hudson City Court before Judge John Connor and remanded back to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond to return to Hudson City Court November 13.
The Columbia County District Attorney’s Office assisted in obtaining a court order for Mr. Edmunds to answer charges in Hudson City Court.
Canaan
Columbia County 911 summoned State Police to the intersection of routes 22 and 295 for a report that the traffic light was not operational, October 27 at 1:20 p.m.
While troopers were on their way to the call, 911 advised them that a two-vehicle collision had occurred there.
A vehicle driven by Richard Stark of Vermont was headed northbound on State Route 22 and a vehicle operated by Tanasia Jones of Massachusetts was headed west on State Route 295, when both vehicles entered the intersection simultaneously and collided. Both vehicles failed to stop and yield right of way at the intersection, according to Troop K Public Information Officer Trooper A.J. Hicks.
The Jones vehicle spun around, rolled onto its side and struck three unoccupied parked vehicles in the nearby parking lot of the Bar-Ken Service Station at 13375 Route 22.
The Chatham Rescue Squad took Ms. Jones to the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA, for a complaint of pain. Mr. Stark was not hurt. No tickets were issued.
Columbia County 911 dispatched Canaan firefighters and Chatham Rescue along with Red Rock firefighters under automatic mutual aid.
Power was out in the area so the traffic light was not working. New York State Department of Transportation was called to assist with traffic control.
Firefighters were back in service at 3:42 p.m.
