Kinderhook elects new trustees, villages prepare budgets

GHENT—All four villages in the county held elections on March 18. Kinderhook has two new trustees — Astrid Montagano and Joseph Wildermuth – who will join the Village Board in April.

In Chatham, Philmont and Valatie incumbent mayors and trustees ran unopposed and were all reelected to two year terms.

All four villages will be working on their proposed annual budgets, which run from June 2025 to May 2026. The Chatham Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on their tentative budget on April 14 at 6:45 p.m. at Tracy Memorial Hall, 77 Main Street. Copies of the tentative proposed Village Budget are available in the Village Clerk’s Office.

The Valatie Village Board will host their public hearing at their April 8 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Martin H. Glynn Municipal Building, 3211 Church St.
