HUDSON—Anthony Ormsby, 29, of Hudson was charged with second degree menacing (weapon) and third degree criminal possession weapon (previous conviction) by Hudson Police Officer Rodney Waithe at North Second Street, November 22 at 6:23 p.m.
Mr. Ormsby was involved in a dispute during which he allegedly tried to strike the victim with a hammer.
He was arraigned in Hudson City Court before Judge John Connor. He was sent to the Columbia County Jail. Bail was set at $1,000 cash or $2,500 bond.
- Sharmin S. Ahasan, 36, of Queens was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by Hudson Police Officer Patrick Meister at 15 South Front Street, November 19 at 2:33 p.m.
Ms. Ahasan allegedly fought with Parvin Akter in front of Ms. Ahasan’s two young children. Ms. Ahasan was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Hudson City Court at a later date.
- Parvin Akter, 50, of Hudson was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by Hudson Police Officer Christopher Duntz at 15 North Front Street, November 19 at 4:11 p.m.
Ms. Akter allegedly fought with Sharmin Ahasan in front of Ms. Ahasan’s two young children. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Hudson City Court at a later date.
- Jonathan A. Garcia, 22, of Hudson was charged on active arrest warrants for resisting arrest and endangering welfare of a child by Hudson Police Officer Shane Bower at 71 Prospect Avenue, November 23 at 1:11 p.m.
Charges stem from a September 18 incident during which Mr. Garcia allegedly resisted arrest by fleeing police who were trying to charge him on an active Greene County violation of probation warrant.
He was arraigned before Hudson City Court Judge John Connor and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $250 cash bail or bond, returnable in court at a later date.
- Holly S. Pepe, 34, of Hudson was charged with endangering the welfare of child and second degree harassment (physical/repeated) by Hudson Officer David Card at the police station, November 28 at 1:22 p.m.
Ms. Pepe was charged following an altercation which took place in the lobby of 41 North Second Street, November 14. She was released with an appearance ticket returnable in Hudson City Court December 16.
Drugs/alcohol
The following face drug- and/or alcohol-related charges:
- Barbara Kubisek, 45, of Hudson was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, by Deputies Peter Merante and Peter Grzeskow, November 16 at 11:17 a.m. Ms. Kubisek is accused of possessing a quantity of crack cocaine during a stop at the intersection of State Route 9H and State Route 23 in Claverack. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Claverack Court at a later date.
- Robert McCagg, Jr., 26, of Hudson was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and reckless driving, both class U misdemeanors, by Deputies Peter Grzeskow and Jordan Brahm, November 20 at 1:25 p.m. Deputies came upon an accident on County Route 19 in Livingston and investigated. Mr. McCagg is accused of operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was issued tickets returnable in Livingston Court December 17.
- Gregory Ricardo Haye, 35, of Hudson was charged with DWI (first offense), aggravated DWI (having a blood alcohol content of .18% or greater, first offense) and unlawful possession of marijuana by Hudson Police Officer Jason Finn, November 20 at 11:47 p.m. Mr. Haye was charged after he crashed his car in front of 9 Columbia Street, Hudson. He was also found to possess a small bag of marijuana. Mr. Haye was arraigned in Hudson City Court before Judge John Connor and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond He was to return to court at a later date.
- Matthew S. Rivenburgh, 46, of Clermont was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI (prior convictions), both class E felonies, by Deputy Louis Bray, November 25 at 6:41 p.m. Deputy Bray responded to the Kinderhook Napa for a suspicious vehicle and person in the parking lot. Mr. Rivenburgh was stopped and interviewed. He failed field sobriety tests. A breathalyzer test resulted in a .23% blood alcohol content. He was arraigned in Stuyvesant Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Kinderhook Town Court at a later date.
- Robert J. Grayson, Jr., 50, of Craryville was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI, both class U misdemeanors, by Deputy Louis Bray, November 29 at 4:57 p.m. Mr. Grayson was stopped on the Taconic State Parkway in Austerlitz for driving on a rim without a tire. His breathalyzer test resulted in a .28% blood alcohol content. He was issued tickets returnable in Austerlitz Court December 9.

SP Livingston invites all to open house, toy drive
LIVINGSTON—State Police will hold their 14th annual Open House and Toy Drive, Saturday, December 5, 2 to 4 p.m. Troopers in Columbia County and members of the community have come together to collect toys for area families in need every holiday season since 2002.
This year’s event, which will include light refreshments and an appearance by Santa Claus, will be held at the Livingston station, 3353 Route 9. Those attending are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation. Toys will continue to be accepted at the Livingston station ever day through December 16.
