Hawthorne Valley welcomes new board member

HARLEMVILLE–Hawthorne Valley Association recently welcomed Danielle Do to its Board of Trustees.

“Danielle has a clear commitment to Waldorf education and an abiding appreciation for biodynamic agriculture. I have experienced her thoughtfulness, generosity, and care and am grateful that she is willing to share her considerable talents and passion as a Trustee in service to the mission and work of Hawthorne Valley,” Hawthorne Valley Executive Director Martin Ping said  in a press release.

Ms. Do joins a board that includes: Board President Tom James who served 12 years as Provost, Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Columbia University’s Teachers College; Treasurer Matt Stinchcomb, founder of the Good Work Institute; Secretary Bob Fox, an architects and sustainability leader; Herbert Dreiseitl, sculptor, artist, landscape architect, and interdisciplinary urban planner; and Stephanie Lazar, a public health policy and advocacy expert with a passion for environmental sustainability, biodynamic farming, and social justice.

Ms. Do spent the first part of her career as a corporate lawyer, working as an associate and then partner with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. In that role, she advised many large corporations on mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets transactions, as well as on corporate governance and securities law matters.

She currently serves as the chief corporate and securities counsel at Synchrony Financial where she handles corporate governance and securities law matters. She is a graduate of Harvard-Radcliffe College and Harvard Law School. She and her family split their time between New York City and Columbia County.
