County observes Memorial Day
In New Lebanon, the Memorial Day parade lined up at Shatford Park on Route 22 in Lebanon Springs and stepped off promptly at 9 a.m., processing down Route 20 (pictured) past the high school to the Cemetery of the Evergreens. A program was prepared by the New Lebanon Floyd Carlton Post 1236 of the American Legion at the site of the memorial listing veterans of the “World War.” Included on that honor roll was Floyd Carlton, who was killed one month before the First World War ended in 1918.
