HUDSON—Hudson Police arrested Michael A. Davey, 39, of Hudson on six separate counts of first degree rape (a child less than 11 years old), a class B felony, and one count of predatory sexual assault against a child, a class A-II felony, December 19.
Police received information from the Columbia County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services Unit (CPS) about a juvenile female being sexually abused, December 19. This information was immediately turned over to the Hudson Police Detective Division for further investigation. HPD worked collaboratively with CPS, the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and New York State Police BCI for a swift investigation due to the allegations being as recent as a few days prior to the report.
Mr. Davey was arraigned in Hudson City Court before Judge John Connor.
He was sent to the Columbia County Jail with no bail. He was due back in City Court December 24.
In a press release Hudson Police thanked the Columbia County Department of Social Service – Child Protective Unit, the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Columbia County, and the New York State Police BCI for their collective efforts in this investigation.
*David M. Taylor, 59, of Hudson was charged with second degree obstruction of governmental administration, failure to use designated lane, driving while intoxicated (DWI) operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08%, DWI first offense, third degree attempted assault with intent to cause physical injury by Hudson Police Officer Luis Martinez December 6 at 6:41 p.m. Mr. Taylor was issued appearance tickets and uniform traffic tickets, all returnable in Hudson City Court at a later date.
*Madeline J. Dethloff, 27, of Germantown was charged with failure to keep to the right, DWI first offense and aggravated DWI (having a BAC of .18 or more, no priors) by Hudson Police Officer Randy Strattman, December 7 at 12:14 a.m.
The defendant was arrested on the above charges following a traffic stop. She was issued tickets returnable in Hudson City Court at a later date.
*Jacob D. O’Leary, 27, of Hudson was charged with DWI first offense, refusal to take a breath test and an equipment violation—inadequate lights by Hudson Police Officer Randy Strattman, December 7 at 11:43 p.m. The defendant was arrested on the above charges following a traffic stop. He was issued tickets returnable in Hudson City Court at a later date.
Amenia
A Copake man was charged with the rape of a minor December 20. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of William J. Mair, 21, of Copake in connection with a recent investigation into sexual activity involving a minor.
The above investigation was conducted by Sheriff’s Office detectives and resulted in the arrest of Mr. Mair. He is accused of having sexual contact with a person under the age of 17. In order to protect the victim’s privacy any further details about them and the case are being withheld, and at this time there appears to be no danger to the public.
Mr. Mair has been charged with third degree rape (felony). After being processed he was arraigned in the Town of Amenia Court and sent to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

Valatie
State Police are investigating a stabbing incident in the Village of Valatie. On December 28 at 7:06 p.m., State Police patrols responded to 3033 Main Street in the Village of Valatie for a reported stabbing. Troopers, along with deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, found the victim, 49-year-old Chris Dugan with two minor stab wounds.
On December 29, Robert P. Krein, 23, was arrested for second degree assault, a class D felony, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear back in court January 28
Mr. Dugan was taken to the Albany Medical Center for evaluation. Mr. Krein was arraigned in Kinderhook Town Court and released into the custody of probation. Mr. Dugan was expected to be released from the hospital December 30.

December 27 at 6:58 p.m. Chatham firefighters were dispatched for what was initially described as an outdoor boiler fire at 86 Clark Road, Chatham. The call was subsequently updated to a wood stove fire that spread to a barn. East Chatham, Red Rock and Ghent firefighters responded mutual aid and Valatie stood by at the Chatham firehouse. Car 1 requested additional Engine 58-42 along with an engine and tanker from East Chatham. Red Rock was requested to establish a fill site and a tanker from Ghent was dispatched to the scene. CFD was assisted at the scene by the County Fire Coordinator’s Office, Chatham Rescue Squad, NYSEG and the Town Highway Department. The Hudson Police Department hosted a promotional ceremony recognizing the dedication and achievements of outstanding department members, December 18. Promoted were Captain David Miller, Lieutenant Nicolas Pierro and Sergeant Tracey Roberts. They have dedicated their careers to upholding the highest standards of service and protection for the community, said the post. Special recognition was given to Sergeant Larry Edelman and his loyal partner, K9 Wrigs, for their exceptional service. K9 Wrigs was presented with Officer William Wrigley’s badge.
