HUDSON—A teenager, who allegedly stabbed a man twice in the back October 30 at about 11 a.m., turned himself in at the City Police station about three hours later.
Duhamel Johnson, 18, of Greenport was charged with first degree felony assault and third degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Mr. Johnson allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man twice in the back near 233 State Street, inflicting serious physical injury. Police found the victim with wounds to his upper torso.
The Greenport Rescue Squad took the victim to Columbia Memorial Hospital, where police say he was listed in stable condition.
Following the incident, City Police began a search for a male suspect wearing a black Northface jacket, last seen running towards North Second Street.
Through their investigation, police identified the suspect and attempted to locate him.
Mr. Johnson later contacted the police department and turned himself in 2:15 p.m. He was held pending arraignment in City Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
