CLAVERACK—State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Livingston barracks arrested seven residents at the Office of Children and Family Services–Brookwood Secure Center December 19 in connection with a serious assault that took place at the facility November 25.
The following subjects were charged with second degree assault: Keith Woody, 18; Rasheen Washington, 18; Ray Rosello, 19; Wayne McGee, 17; Reuben Felder, 17; Ariel Acosta, 17; and Needham Williams, 16.
It is alleged that these seven residents brutally attacked and beat another 17-year-old resident of the facility, causing him injury.
All seven defendants were arraigned in Claverack Court. Five were committed to the Columbia County Jail without bail. Two others were released on their own recognizance and sent back to Brookwood pending further court action. All subjects were ordered to re-appear in Claverack Court January 21.
•Isiah Serrano, 18, a resident at the Office of Children and Family Services–Brookwood Secure Center, was charged with second degree assault by State Police investigators from the Livingston barracks December 19.
Mr. Serrano was charged in connection with a serious assault which took place at the facility October 28. It is alleged that he attacked another resident at the facility causing him substantial injury.
He was arraigned in Claverack Court where he was released on his own recognizance and remanded to the Brookwood Secure Center pending further court action. He was ordered to re-appear in Claverack Court January 21.
•Charlie Rhinehart, 16, a resident of the Office of Children and Family Services–Brookwood Secure Center, was charged with: criminal obstruction of breathing, class A misdemeanor; second degree assault, class D felony; third degree assault, class A misdemeanor, and second degree harassment , class A misdemeanor, by State Police investigators from the Livingston barracks, December 5.
Beginning December 4, State Police began receiving multiple reports about Brookwood Secure Center staff were being assaulted by a resident at the facility. Their investigation revealed that Charlie assaulted three different staff members over the course of a 12 hour period while incarcerated at the facility.
He was arraigned in Claverack Court and committed to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
Hudson
Jacqueline L. Godin, 49, of Hudson was charged with second degree assault (with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon), second degree menacing (weapon), second degree unlawful imprisonment, two counts of third degree criminal possession weapon (previous conviction) and fourth degree criminal mischief (prevent communicating) by Hudson Police Officer Nicholas Hodges at 71 Prospect Street, December 1 at 10:45 p.m.
Ms. Godin allegedly struck the victim in the head with a metal lamp and menaced her with a knife during an altercation.
She was arraigned before Judge John Connor and was sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond and instructed to return to court at a later date.
*William Joseph Scraper, 27, of Castleton was charged with second degree criminal contempt (disobeying a court order) and failure to stop at stop sign by Hudson Police Officer William Wrigley at 848 Columbia Street, December 2 at 9:04 p.m.
Mr. Scraper was pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign and was found to have a 12 gauge shotgun in his possession in violation of a court order prohibiting him from possessing any type of firearm.
He was released on tickets to return to Hudson City Court at a later date.
Canaan
Mark W. Williams, 32, of Canaan was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief by State Police from New Lebanon Saturday, December 7.
At about 3:30 a.m. that day, troopers were called to a reported altercation at a residence on Frisbee Street. Mr. Williams allegedly damaged property of another person during the incident. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Canaan Court at a later date.
Drugs/alcohol
The following face drug- and/or alcohol-related charges:
*Eva M. Jones, 28, of Hudson was charged with driving while intoxicated (operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08% and driving while intoxicated (first offense) by Hudson Police Officer Christopher Duntz at 231 Warren Street, Hudson, November 30 at 1:25 a.m.
Police saw Ms. Jones parallel park her vehicle in front of 231 Warren Street, leaving the rear passenger side of the car on the sidewalk. She was subsequently found to be intoxicated and released with tickets directing her to appear in Hudson City Court at a later date.
*David A. Hunt Jr., 20, of Kinderhook was charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana by State Police from Kinderhook, December 4. Troopers pulled Mr. Hunt over for speeding on State Route 9H, Kinderhook and subsequently found him to possess marijuana. He was issued tickets to appear in Kinderhook Town Court at a later date.
*Pamela G. Pope, 55, of New Lebanon was charged with second degree obstructing governmental administration, driving while intoxicated and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations by State Police from New Lebanon, December 4. She was issued appearance and traffic tickets returnable in New Lebanon Court at a later date.
*Timothy F. Hilts, 22, of Canaan was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana by State Police from New Lebanon, Sunday December 8. Troopers stopped Mr. Hilts at 2 a.m. on County Route 5, Canaan for failure to keep right. They determined that he was driving while impaired by drugs and they also found marijuana in his vehicle. Mr. Hilts was issued tickets returnable in Canaan Court at a later date.
*Adam S. Thomas, 29, of Green Island was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, by State Police from New Lebanon, December 13 at 11:45 p.m. Troopers pulled Mr. Thomas over on State Route 20, New Lebanon after seeing his vehicle unable to maintain its lane of travel. He was found to be in possession of hashish and marijuana. Mr. Thomas was issued tickets ordering him to appear in New Lebanon Court January 16.
