NEW LEBANON— A Lebanon Springs man faces physical violence-related charges for the second time in 10 months.
David Dunavin, 40, was charged with two counts of felony first degree criminal contempt, felony third degree criminal mischief, third degree assault and second degree harassment by Trooper Eric Harris, Saturday evening, January 26.
Mr. Dunavin allegedly destroyed property in a woman’s home, causing $1,000 worth of damage, punched and kicked the woman and threatened her safety. He also allegedly violated a court order of protection during this incident and earlier in the week.
He was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail. He is to appear in New Lebanon Court, January 31.
Mr. Dunavin was arrested in March of last year for another incident during which he broke the same woman’s ribs in front of her child. Those actions led to his arrest on three counts and the issuance of the order of protection.
Kinderhook
State Police in Kinderhook are investigating numerous complaints of property being taken from unlocked vehicles in the Valatie and Kinderhook areas during the overnight hours, according to a January 20 press release.
One or more perpetrators are targeting neighborhood areas where a large number of vehicles can be rummaged through in a short period of time. Items stolen include money, credit cards, checkbooks, laptop computers, clothing and any other items of value. Residents are strongly encouraged to lock their vehicles and not store items of value in plain sight. Community members can further assist police by reporting any signs of suspicious activity to local law enforcement. Hudson
Samir Salah Alygad, 28, of Freehold was charged with third degree assault (with intent to cause physical injury), petit larceny and second degree burglary (with intent to commit a crime in a dwelling) by Hudson Police Officer Nicolas Pierro at the police station, January 18 at 9:25 p.m.
Mr. Alygad was picked up by New York City Police 50th Precinct and turned over to Hudson Police on a warrant stemming from a November 22, 2012 incident in which he allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence on State Street, assaulted her and another person while they slept, then fled the scene, stealing a laptop on his way out.
Arraigned before City Judge Mark Portin, Mr. Alygad was sent to the county jail without bail.
Livingston
Christopher Young, 22, of Livingston was charged on a Columbia County warrant for a violation of probation by Deputy Travis VanAlstyne, January 11 at 10:02 a.m. Mr. Young was originally convicted of third degree criminal possession of a weapon October 7, 2010 in Dutchess County Court and sentenced to a period of probation January 11, 2011. He allegedly violated terms and conditions of his probation resulting in the issuance of the warrant by Columbia County Judge Jonathan Nichols. Young was sent to the county jail without bail and was ordered to return to county court at a later time.
Milan
Sasha M. Feliciano, 34, of Pittsfield, MA, was charged with speeding and second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle by troopers from SP Livingston, Sunday, January 20 at 1:38 p.m.
Ms. Feliciano was stopped for traveling at 78 mph in a 55 mph zone on the Taconic State Parkway. Upon conducting a license check through the state Department of Motor Vehicles, it was revealed that Ms. Feliciano’s license had three active suspensions. She was taken into custody and arraigned in Milan Court. She posted $500 cash bail and was released to reappear February 7.
Drugs/alcohol
The following face drug- and/or alcohol-related charges:
*Emily Martino, 26, of Philmont was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance by Livingston State Trooper A. Hyra, January 15.
Ms. Martino was charged after being stopped on the Taconic State Parkway in Ghent for speeding. She was found to possess a quantity of marijuana and oxycontin pills. She was released on appearance tickets returnable in Ghent Court.
*Daniel K. Blodgett, 37, of Albany was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, improper turn/fail to signal and driving while ability impaired by Hudson Police Officer Patrick Meister at 554 State Street, January 20 at 12:51 a.m. Following a traffic stop for failing to signal, Mr. Blodgett was found to have a suspended driver’s license and showed characteristics of being under the influence of alcohol. He failed field coordination tests. He was taken to the police department where he submitted to a breath test. He was issued appearance tickets and released to a third party.
*Megan Hedin, 29, of Coxsackie and Eryn Kelley, 27, of Greenfield Center were charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Ms. Hedin was additionally charged with possession of a hypodermic needle by Sheriff’s Sergeant William Zincio and Deputy Chad Shufelt during a traffic stop on Route 9, Stockport, January 22 at 8:30 p.m. Ms. Hedin and Ms. Kelley were found to possess heroin. They were released with appearance tickets to answer the charges in Stockport Court February 18.
*Joseph A. Callan, 26, of Valatie was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and moving from lane unsafely by Sheriff’s Sergeant William Zincio during a traffic stop on County Route 25, Stockport, January 23 at 7:45 p.m. Mr. Callan was found to be possess heroin. He was released with appearance tickets to answer the charges in Stockport Court February 25.

*Ryan Shufelt pleaded guilty to second degree burglary and second degree robbery. He was arrested by Kinderhook State Police, January 17, 2012 and represented by Attorney Ken Esrick. He was sentenced to 4-years determinate and 3-years post-release supervision.
*Nicholas Dodge pleaded guilty to second degree burglary and second degree robbery. He was arrested by Kinderhook State Police January 17, 2012 and represented by Attorney Dennis McAvoy. He was sentenced to 5-years determinate and 5-years post-release supervision.
*Joseph Clark pleaded guilty to third degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office October 11, 2012 and represented by the public defender. He was sentenced to two-years determinate and two-years post-release supervision.
*Daniel Potts pleaded guilty to fifth degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office October 11, 2012 and represented by Attorney Dennis McEvoy. He was sentenced to one-year determinate and one-year post-release supervision.
*James Stagias pleaded guilty to seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office October 11, 2012 and represented by Attorney Ann Weaver. He was sentenced to serve weekends for four months and three years probation.
*Michael Eigo pleaded guilty to first degree reckless endangerment. He was arrested by NYSP Livingston State Police February 22, 2012 and represented by Attorney Bernard Brady. He will be sentenced March 26 at 10:45 a.m.
