HPD: Knife’s not enough, so she turned to saliva

HUDSON— Kayla M. Ramos, 19, of Hudson was charged with second degree menacing (weapon) and second degree harassment (physical/repeated) by Hudson Police Officer Dean Rowe at 85 Industrial Tract, Greenport, October 31 at 1:41 p.m.

Hudson Police received a 911 transfer call from County Control reporting a woman with a knife creating a disturbance on Columbia Street, October 21. Patrols responded but the woman was gone upon arrival.

An investigation revealed that Ms. Ramos chased a 23-year-old man with a kitchen knife and threatened him with bodily harm. During the altercation, she also spit on the victim twice, striking him in the leg with her saliva. On October 31, she was arrested on a warrant by Sheriff’s deputies and turned over to HPD.

Arraigned before City Judge Mark Portin, she was released on her own recognizance.

*Henry Patrick Oswald, Jr., 56, of Hudson was charged with first degree sexual abuse (sexual contact with someone under 11) and endangering the welfare of a child by Hudson Police Detective Christopher M. Filli at the police station, November 1 at 2:55 p.m.

Mr. Oswald allegedly had inappropriate contact with a child under 11 years of age, October 30.

Arraigned before City Judge John Connor, Jr., Mr. Oswald was sent to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bail bond.

*Joshua R. Board, 25, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault (recklessly causing physical injury) by Hudson Police Officer Jeffrey Keyser at the police station, October 3 at 10:17 a.m.

Mr. Board was charged on a Hudson City Court arrest warrant for allegedly forcing open a door which a woman was hiding behind to conceal herself from him during a dispute, September 20. When Mr. Board forced the door open it struck the woman in the head and caused a laceration to her forehead. Mr. Board was held for arraignment.

*Shauna M. Izzo, 23, of Hudson was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, six counts of possession of a hypodermic instrument and prostitution by Officer Kevin Sweet at 119 Columbia Street, October 4 at 4:27 a.m.

Ms. Izzo allegedly had in her possession six hypodermic needles, a knotted plastic bag end containing a white chunky substance that field-tested positive for crack cocaine and four glassine envelopes containing a tan powder that field-tested positive for heroin when she was found in a motor vehicle on private property with a man. Police say the man confirmed that he had agreed to pay Ms. Izzo $30 for oral sex. Arraigned before City Judge Mark Portin, Ms. Izzo was sent to jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or bond.

*Jonathan Jones, 43, of Hudson was charged with first degree burglary (causes physical injury) by Officer Jeffrey Keyser and Detective John Funk at 325 Columbia Street, October 6 at 1:39 p.m.

Mr. Jones was arrested on a warrant following an investigation into an assault and burglary which was reported to HPD September 13. The investigation revealed that Mr. Jones entered and remained unlawfully in a man’s apartment on the 500 block of State Street with the intent to cause physical injury to the victim. Mr. Jones allegedly punched, kicked and choked the 50-year-old man causing physical injury, which required him to seek medical treatment at the hospital. Arraigned before City Judge John Connor, Jr., Mr. Jones was sent to jail without bail.

*Albert J. Johnson, 24, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault (with intent to cause physical injury) and resisting arrest by Officer Jeffrey Keyser at 554 State Street, October 10 at 10:09 p.m.

An investigation revealed that Mr. Johnson got into a physical altercation with a 43-year-old man during which he allegedly struck the man several times in the face with his fist, which caused swelling and bruising. Mr. Johnson also allegedly physically resisted officers’ efforts to take him into custody.

Arraigned before City Judge Mark Portin, Mr. Johnson was sent to jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or bond.
