GALLATIN–A 16-year-old boy from Pine Plains was killed in a car/bicycle collision on County Route 2, Monday, July 9 at about 7:30 a.m.
Livingston State Police say that Isaac Monk Churton was riding his bicycle headed south on Brookside Lane, a private road, when he failed to yield the right of way when entering the westbound lane of County Route 2, also called Jackson Corners Road.
Isaac, who was wearing headphones, collided with the passenger side of a 2007 Subaru driven by Harold F. House, Jr., 77, of Pleasant Valley, who was headed west.
Northern Dutchess Paramedics took Isaac to Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, where he was pronounced dead. The driver and his passenger were treated on the scene.
Police say neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash and criminal charges were not filed. The State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was called in and Milan firefighters assisted at the scene. The road was closed until about 11 a.m.
Isaac was a student at Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains.
