CANAAN–A resident of the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth faces several charges after a rock-throwing incident.
Trooper Bryan Cloutier charged Ray-Lon Wilson, 16, originally of Albany with third degree attempted assault, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth degree criminal mischief and unlawful possession of marijuana August 14.
Police say Ray-Lon was throwing rocks on the campus because he was bored.
At some point, he allegedly threw a rock at a staff member. The rock missed the man, but struck another staff member’s 2007 Toyota Camry, causing an estimated $500 damage. The youth also allegedly had a small quantity of marijuana wrapped in paper with him. The teen will make an August 25 appearance in the Canaan Court.
Stuyvesant
Bonnie J. Kilmer, 39, of Stuyvesant was charged with third degree assault by Deputies Jeffrey Hofstetter and Peter Grzeskow, August 10 at 5:25 p.m.
Ms. Kilmer allegedly assaulted a 44-year-old woman at a location on County Route 26A causing facial and arm injuries to the woman. Ms. Kilmer was released with an appearance ticket directing her to appear in Stuyvesant Court at a later date.
Claverack
Christopher Moorehouse, 24, of Chatham was charged with second degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor, by Deputy Peter Grzeskow, July 7 at 10:52 a.m. Mr. Moorehouse allegedly violated an order of protection issued by Columbia County Family Court Judge Jonathan Nichols by telephoning the person he was ordered not to contact. He was arraigned in Claverack Court before Justice Michael Brandon and released on his own recognizance and directed to return to court at a later date.
Elizaville
Peter M. Brillis, 21, of Elizaville was charged with second degree reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor, by Deputy Brian Molinski, July 9 at 7:11 p.m. Mr. Brillis is accused of swerving his vehicle towards a pedestrian on Westland Road. The pedestrian was not struck. Mr. Brillis was taken into custody without incident and released with an appearance ticket returnable in Livingston Court.
Stuyvesant
Peggy Balint, 49, of Claverack was charged on a bench warrant by Deputy Brian Molinski, July 9. The warrant was issued by Stuyvesant Justice Carrie O’Hare after Ms. Balint allegedly failed to appear in court on a charge of second degree criminal contempt. She was arraigned on the warrant before Justice O’Hare and sent to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. She is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
Drugs/alcohol
The following face drug- and/or alcohol-related charges:
*Joseph Lemme, 60, of Catskill was charged with driving while intoxicated by State Police at Livingston, June 18. Police stopped Mr. Lemme during a DWI Roadcheck on State Route 23 in Greenport. He was released with tickets returnable in Greenport Court.
*Michael R. Santoro, 35, of Germantown was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident by State Police at Livingston, June 19 at 2 p.m. Troopers were called to investigate a hit and run property damage auto accident on State Route 9G, north of Tivoli. They were given the plate number of the suspect vehicle, which was seen travelling north on State Route 9. Troopers subsequently went to a residence on County Route 8, Germantown, where they found the vehicle, which had damage consistent with the accident.
They took Mr. Santoro into custody. He refused to submit to a breath test, was arraigned in Red Hook Court and released to reappear at a later date.
*Eugene Krein, II, 35, of Ghent was charged with class E-felony driving while ability impaired by drugs and failure to keep right by Deputies Brendan Filli and Kris Bauhoff during a traffic stop on Pond Hill Road, Ghent, June 26 at 12:29 a.m. He was released with tickets to appear in Ghent Court.
*Kim Critelli, 22, of Adams, MA was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding and other vehicle and traffic violations by State Police at Livingston, June 28 at 9:30 p.m. Troopers stopped the Critelli vehicle for travelling 80 mph in a 55 mph zone on the Taconic State Parkway in Taghkanic. The driver was unable to perform sobriety tests and some marijuana was found in the vehicle. She refused to submit to a breath or blood test. She was arraigned in Taghkanic Court and released with tickets to reappear on a later date.
*John Wiencke, 28, of Copake was charged with driving while intoxicated by State Police at Livingston, July 1. Police investigated a one-car property damage auto accident on State Route 22, Copake. Troopers interviewed the driver, Mr. Wiencke, who claimed he swerved to avoid a deer and went into a ditch. Police determined him to be intoxicated and released him with tickets.
*Mark J. McMahon, 64, of Redding, CT was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding by State Police at Livingston, July 2 at 7:45 p.m. A trooper saw the McMahon vehicle travelling a 42 mph in a 30 mph zone on County Route 7, Copake. The operator exhibited signs of intoxication and could not perform roadside sobriety tests. Mr. McMahon submitted to a breath test with a resulting .16% blood alcohol content. He was issued tickets returnable in Copake Court at a later date.
*Joel Rose, 42, of Nassau was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, no helmet, operating an ATV without insurance, operating an ATV on railroad tracks, unregistered ATV and operating an ATV illegally on a highway by Deputy Louis Bray during a traffic stop in Niverville, July 2 at 9:05 p.m. Mr. Rose was released with traffic and appearance tickets to answer the charges in the Kinderhook Town Court.
*Nnamdi O. Ukasonya, 19, of Amityville was charged with speed in excess of 55 mph, uninspected motor vehicle, driving without a license and unlawful possession of marijuana during a traffic stop by Deputy Louis Bray on the Taconic State Parkway in Gallatin, July 3 at 11:20 a.m. Mr. Ukasonya will answer the charges in Gallatin Court.
*Kayla Green, 18, of Germantown was charged with two counts of petit larceny and two counts of unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor by Deputy Peter Grzeskow, July 5 at 12:45 p.m. Ms. Green allegedly entered the Germantown Xtra Mart convenience store on two occasions and stole alcoholic beverages. Taken into custody without incident, Ms. Green was released with appearance tickets directing her to appear in Germantown Court at a later date.
*Brian C. Plew, 20, of Durham was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08%, driving while using a cell phone and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance by Chatham Police, July 23 at 5:30 p.m. Police stopped Mr. Plew on Hudson Avenue, Chatham for a traffic violation and discovered he had been consuming alcohol. He was also found to have a quantity of hydrocodone pills without a prescription. He was released with a return date in village court.
*Christopher Lape, 40, of West Hempstead was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana by Deputies Cindy Madison, Heath Benansky and K9 partner Nico, July 30 at 7:34 p.m. Deputies approached Mr. Lape in a vehicle on Route 66 in Claverack and found him to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana. Arraigned in Greenport Court before Justice Robert Brenzel, Mr. Lape was sent to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond. He was directed to return to Claverack Court at a later date.
