HUDSON–Two relatives were charged by City Police in connection with a Columbia Street burglary.
Jovan Luis Surita, 24, of Hudson was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property by Officer Nicolas Pierro at North Sixth Street, August 8 at 6:33 a.m.
Hudson Police were called to a burglary at a residence on the 500 block of Columbia Street, August 8 at 6:09 a.m. While investigating, they found Mr. Surita allegedly in possession of a $15 bottle of wine, which was one of the items stolen.
He was arraigned before City Judge Richard Koweek and sent to jail in lieu of $250 cash/$500 bond.
Following further investigation, Mr. Surita was charged with second degree burglary by Officer Brent Rowe at the police station, August 9 at 8:29 a.m. Mr. Surita allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in the previously mentioned residence, where jewelry and a bottle of wine were stolen. He was arraigned before Judge Koweek and jailed in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
Also in connection with the same case, Jonah Jose Surita, 22, of Hudson, who police say is related to Jovan Luis Surita, was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana by Hudson Police Officers Randy Clarke and Jeffrey Keyser at the police station, August 8 at 9:06 a.m.
Jonah Surita was allegedly in possession of a watch stolen from the burglarized residence. When police detained him during the investigation, he allegedly attempted to get rid of the evidence by hiding it under the back seat of the police car he was in. He also allegedly had marijuana.
Arraigned before Judge Koweek, he was sent to jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond.
*Angelo J. Salvatore, Jr., 28, of Hudson was charged with second degree menacing, third degree criminal possession weapon, third degree attempted assault, fourth degree criminal mischief and unlawful possession of marijuana by Officer Nicolas Pierro, July 9 at 8:44 p.m.
Mr. Salvatore got into a dispute with a 28-year-old woman at 12 McKinstry Place. During the incident, he allegedly broke two doors in the apartment and threatened the woman with a knife. After his arrest, he was found to have a green substance which field tested positive for marijuana.
He was arraigned before City Judge Mark Portin and sent to jail without bail.
Four days later, July 13 at 12:58 p.m., Officer Mishanda Franklin charged Mr. Salvatore with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and second degree criminal contempt at the police station.
Mr. Salvatore allegedly had a gold necklace taken from the woman with whom he had the dispute. He allegedly gave the necklace to another woman. Also, while incarcerated on the initial charges, Mr. Salvatore allegedly violated an Order of Protection issued in Hudson City Court by making several phone calls to the protected party. He was arraigned and sent back to jail.
*Brandon Keese, 24, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault by Officer David C. Miller Jr. at the police station, July 7 at 5:12 p.m.
Mr. Keese allegedly punched a 27-year-old man in the face causing injury during a June 30 fight at a Green Street residence. He turned himself in and was issued an appearance ticket for City Court.
*Sean S. Bush, 41, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault by Officer David Miller, Jr., July 15 at 2:37 a.m.
Mr. Bush got into a dispute with a woman in an 82 North Third Street apartment and allegedly pushed her into a stove. The woman sustained cuts to both of her elbows and sought medical attention from Greenport Rescue Squad.
Mr. Bush was arraigned before Judge Richard Koweek and was sent to jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
*Michelle Lee Moskaluk, 22, of Hudson was charged with third degree menacing, third degree criminal possession weapon and third degree attempted assault by Officer William Wrigley, July 14 at 9:12 a.m.
Ms. Moskaluk allegedly used a coat hanger to threaten a woman and struck her in the arms with it a number of times. She turned herself in at the police station. She was arraigned before Judge Richard Koweek and released.
*Michael R. Owens, 20, of Hudson was charged on a warrant for third degree attempted assault by Officer Rodney A. Waithe at the police station, July 13 at 9:18 a.m.
Mr. Owens allegedly hurt a woman by throwing her to the ground causing her to sustain bruises and scratches during a fight behind Providence Hall. He turned himself in. Arraigned before City Judge Mark Portin, Mr. Owens was released on his own recognizance.
*Cory A. Velazquez, 23, of Hudson was charged with third degree attempted assault and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation by Officer David Miller Jr., July 19 at 8:41 a.m.
Mr. Velazquez allegedly choked and attacked a woman during a July 6 dispute at a Front Street residence. He turned himself in at the police station on a warrant.
He was arraigned before Judge Richard Koweek and released.
*William Hines, 57, of Hudson was charged on a warrant for second degree aggravated harassment and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child by Officer William Wrigley at 932 Columbia Street, July 19 at 11:58 a.m. Mr. Hines allegedly threatened to punch a 29-year-old woman in the presence of her daughter and two nieces, ages 9, 13 and 7, July 17. He was arraigned before Judge Richard Koweek and released.
