‘Bladed instrument’ incident plays role in arrest of Hudson man on weapons charge

HUDSON–Antonio M. Fisher, 37, who police say is homeless, was charged on warrants for first degree robbery, third degree criminal possession of a weapon and third degree criminal trespass by Sergeant Thomas Foutch June 24 at 6:09 p.m.

A State Police investigator, who knew Mr. Fisher was wanted, spotted him getting into a vehicle at Park Place and notified city police.

Officers went there and took Mr. Fisher into custody on an arrest warrant for allegedly robbing a man of $168 while threatening him with “a bladed instrument.” The incident took place on State Street in a hallway June 21, according to police.

At the same time, Mr. Fisher was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear in court on the trespass charge.

While being processed on the warrants, police say they found Mr. Fisher to have a crack pipe containing cocaine residue and subsequently charged him with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Mr. Fisher was arraigned and jailed without bail on the felony counts. Bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond on the bench warrant.

*Fred A. Starke, 33, of Hudson was charged with resisting arrest and on an arrest warrant for second degree criminal contempt by Officer Nicolas Pierro June 25 at 5:41 p.m.

While taking Mr. Starke into custody on the warrant issued in Hudson City Court for violating an order of protection, police say, Mr. Starke pulled away from them and refused to listen to their commands. The incident occurred on South Seventh Street.

Mr. Starke was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.

*Ashley M. Weber, 21, of Philmont was charged with third degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child by Officer Dean Rowe June 24 at 10:10 a.m.

Ms. Weber allegedly physically injured a man in the presence of a one-year-old child. She turned herself in at the police station, was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

*David M. Warfield Jr., 43, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault by Officer James Nero, June 30 at 9:01 a.m.

Mr. Warfield allegedly assaulted a woman.

*Veana A. Shackelton, 41, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault on a bench warrant by Officer James Nero, July 1 at 9:45 a.m.

Ms. Shackelton allegedly failed to appear in court to answer the charge June 23.

*Joseph H. DeVito, 26, of Hudson was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child at 321 State Street by Officer Jacob Hoffman, June 28 at 12:52 a.m.

Mr. DeVito allegedly broke the front window of an apartment knowing that there was a one-year-old child inside.

He was arraigned in City Court and jailed in lieu of $250 cash bail or $500 bail bond.

*Daniel T. Purdy, 34, of Hudson was charged with felony first degree criminal contempt (prior conviction) by Officer Jason Finn at a Tenbroeck Avenue residence, June 29 at 7:19 p.m.

Mr. Purdy allegedly violated an order of protection issued in Hudson City Court December 2007.

Drugs/alcohol

The following face drug- or alcohol-related charges:

*Maryanne C. Chodan, 22, of Millerton was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana by Officer Randy Clarke, June 30 at 10:13 a.m.

She was charged on an arrest warrant and turned herself in at the police station.
