Wrestlers take 1st, 2nd place in weight classes at tourney

RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — RCS wrestlers Kaden Potter and Jayden Acomb took first and second place in their respective weight classes at the Schenectady Wrestling Invitational.

The tournament drew 21 teams from around the region, with the Indians taking seventh place at 89.5 points.

Saratoga Springs finished in first with 174.5, Shenendehowa took second with 168.5, Averill Park came in third with 130.5, and Schenectady took fourth place with 121.0.

Potter wracked up another first-place finish at 152, defeating Joey Losee of Shenendehowa by a 9-7 decision in the finals.

Competing in the 116-pound weight class, Acomb took second place.

Also going to the winner’s podium was Owen Greene, who placed fourth at 108.

Taking fifth place were Nick Moyer at 170 pounds and Ethan Green at 190.
