RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The Indians hosted a tournament prior to the winter break for the varsity girls wrestling team and junior varsity boys.

The RCS Girls Round Robin drew 18 teams from around the region and from as far away as Washington County. The Indians as a team took fifth place, scoring 46.0. Hoosick Falls had the top score with 88.5, Mechanicville-Stillwater came in second at 82.0 and Coxsackie-Athens was third at 67.0.

Five female RCS wrestlers competed in the round robin — Sydney Campbell, Helena Desnoyers, Lily McCormack, Laelah Perea and Catalina Wheeler.

Perea defeated all three of her competitors by pin — two wrestlers from Hadley Luzerne and one from Mechanicville-Stillwater — to finish in first place in the 145-pound division.

Lily McCormack took second place at 114, defeating three athletes from Hadley Luzerne, Valley Central and Catskill, and then lost to Emma Mae Kinney from Hoosick Falls to finish second in her weight class.

Catalina Wheeler finished third in the 120-pound division, defeating three opponents but losing to Emily Rae Brady by pin in 3:45.

Sydney Campbell took fourth place in the 120-pound division.
