RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — It was a tough week for the RCS varsity basketball teams.

Last Tuesday, the girls’ team trailed most of the game against La Salle Institute, coming away with a 52-32 loss.

Hayden Wolfe was the top Ravens scorer on the night with 12. The rest of the team scored in the single digits, with Masey Raymond scoring 7 points, Rae Nadierski 5, Patricia Dorrance and Laila Rabideau 3 apiece, and Megan Visone 2.

The Ravens had their best stanza in the second quarter, scoring 11, with 5 points coming in the first quarter, 9 in the third and 7 in the fourth for a total of 32.

The night, however, belonged to La Salle’s Kate Gilooly, who scored a huge 35 points. Only three of her teammates scored on the night, all in the single digits.

Also on Tuesday, the boys’ team took an 85-29 loss against La Salle in an away game for their second loss of the season.

The girls’ team took a loss at home on Friday, losing 74-15 against Albany Academy for Girls.

The Ravens only scored a single point in the first and second quarters, 9 in the third and 4 in the fourth.

Laila Rabideau had 4 points, Masey Raymond and Patricia Dorrance scored three each, Meadow Rabideau scored 2 points and Megan Visone, Kendall Bullock and Danielle LaDuke each scored 1.

Both teams were scheduled at press time to play on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the girls in an away game at Cohoes and the boys at home, also against Cohoes. Results were too late for publication.

The boys will play again Friday in a home game against Troy at 6:30 p.m.
