RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS High School Drama Club received two nominations for this year’s High School Musical Theatre Awards for their production of “Mary Poppins.”
The Drama Club’s crew was nominated for Best Set Construction and Sonia Snyder received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Michael Banks in the musical.
The High School Musical Theatre Awards are a program of the Collaborative School of the Arts at Proctors. The awards are designed to celebrate regional high school theater programs and highlight the importance of arts and theater education, according to the organization’s website.
The awards are modeled after the Tony Awards to recognize outstanding local musical theater productions and students.
This year, 19 local high schools participated in the awards selection.
The winners will be announced on May 4 at 7 p.m. on the Main Stage of Proctors.
