RCS offense unstoppable in quarterfinal against Gloversville

RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The Ravens continued their winning ways on the gridiron Friday night when they defeated Gloversville 56-21.

Playing in the Sectionals game on their home field, RCS continued the strong offense that has been consistent throughout the season — the team has won six games by more than 26 points.

Junior Mason Carkner and senior Ethan Green led the way with 92 rushing yards for Carkner and 178 for Green. Carkner scored three of the game’s touchdowns and Green scored two. Gavin Lochner, Nick Gatta and Ta’rae Makhi Green also added one touchdown apiece.

Kicker Cameron D’Ambrosio successfully made each of his eight extra point attempts.

The team’s offense was unstoppable in the high-scoring game. The Ravens had a massive 348 rushing yards, and 145 passing and receiving yards each.

The hometown team scored two touchdowns in each of the game’s four quarters and held the Huskies to single digits in the first, second and fourth quarters, shutting them out in the third stanza.

The win was the team’s fourth in a row, bringing the season record to 7-2 and continues their postseason play. The Ravens will next face off against Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley on Friday night with kickoff at 7 p.m.
