Ravens take 2nd place in Lewis Johnson Memorial Duals

RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS Ravens took second place in the annual Lewis Johnson Memorial Duals on their home mat, and Aiden Forster won Most Outstanding Wrestler for the tournament.

RCS, with a 4-1 record in the duals, took second place, with Queensbury coming in first.

Nine teams competed in the match, including, in order of their final scores, Queensbury, RCS, Shaker, Onteora, Kingston, Hyde Park, Watervliet, Rondout Valley and Greenville.

Aiden Forster also won all five of his matches, two by pin, two by technical fall and one by forfeit. Competing at 215 pounds, Ethan Green defeated all three of his opponents, two by pin and one by decision, while Kellen Houghtaling split his decisions, pinning three, winning one by forfeit and getting pinned in two matches.

Brock Larsen pinned three opponents and won one match by forfeit before being pinned by an Onteora competitor. Lily McCormack won her one match by forfeit in the 124-pound weight class.

RCS’s Jayden Acomb won all five of his matches in the 138-pound weight class, winning two by pin, two by major decision, and one by technical fall.

Aiden Miner defeated four of his five competitors, including three pins and one decision, and lost one match by pin to a Queensbury wrestler.

Edward Voronko defeated a Queensbury opponent by pin in 0:45 and won a second match by forfeit, while Carter Castagna split his matches with one win by pin and one by forfeit, along with two losses by pin against Queensbury and Watervliet.

At 285, Micky Buchanan won two matches by forfeit, and Aiden Daley won three by forfeit, losing two matches by pin. Peyton Davis, at 170, lost all three matches by pin to Kingston, Watervliet and Onteora.

Andres Pena won a match by pin and lost two by pin, while Elijah Percival won one by pin and one by forfeit, but lost two by pin. Donovin Taber won one match against a Greenville opponent by technical fall and lost three by technical fall, major decision and pin.

Finnigan Wickware won his one match by forfeit at 190 pounds.
