RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS girls’ basketball team honored three players on Senior Night on Tuesday.

Danielle DeLuke, Meadow Rabideau and Kendall Bullock are set to graduate in June and will bid farewell to the team.

Senior Night started out with RCS players handing flowers to the Voorheesville seniors, who the Ravens would play after the ceremony.

Then it was time to honor their own.

As each senior was called up and given flowers, the announcer read statements the players had written.

Danielle DeLuke said her favorite memory of basketball was when the team practiced with the junior varsity players and was able to hang out with her friends. She thanked her parents: “I don’t think I would have made it here without them,” she said. “I love you mom and dad.”

DeLuke also had words of advice for her teammates.

“Be your own support system, clap for yourself, celebrate yourself, do it for yourself and don’t worry what others think about you,” DeLuke said.

Senior Meadow Rabideau was next. She started playing basketball in third grade and has been on the varsity team for three years, and plans to go into cosmetology after graduation. Her favorite basketball memory is a team bonding night held at Chili’s restaurant.

Her words of advice to her teammates were to keep at it, no matter how difficult things may get.

“Never give up, especially when things get hard,” Rabideau said. “Time flies and before you know it, it will all be over, so enjoy it while it lasts.”

The third and final senior to be honored on Senior Night was Kendall Bullock, who started playing basketball back in kindergarten. Bullock is a four-year varsity player, having started on the team in ninth grade. She plans to go to college after graduation, get a degree in biology and go into the medical field. She thanked her parents for being her “number 1 support system.”

Bullock advised her teammates to work hard.

“Always try your hardest and cherish every moment because time really does go fast,” Bullock said.
