Samuel Lambert Jr., at the age of 81, on Saturday, April 15, walked into the welcoming arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Torrington, Connecticut, he was the son of Samuel Lambert Sr. and Charlotte Squires and was the husband of Hazel Meisner for over 61 years.
Sam lived in the Capital Region of New York state where he raised his family and developed an excellent reputation in the blacktop community as proprietor of Quality Pavers, serving this area for over 70 years. He will forever be remembered as a hard working yet compassionate man, equal parts paver and partier, who could outlast anyone on the dance floor. You could find him at his happiest sitting in a pickup truck with a cup of Stewart’s coffee and a USA Gold Light 100.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his beloved eight children — Lisa Vasto (Paul), Rhoda Seaburg (Richard), Peggisue Sherman (James), Samuel and Judy Lambert III, Harry and Shari Lambert, Preston and Margarite Lambert, Amanda Leonardo (Kris), and Samuel and Mindy Lambert IV. He was the proud Pop of 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, with two more arriving soon. Sam, one of 10 siblings, is survived also by sisters Phoebe Ambrose and Jean Chichester, and baby brother Leonard Lambert.
