Coeymans:
- A number of automobile owners in this village failed to take warning from the wintry blasts of Sunday night, and on Monday woke up to find the radiators of their cars frozen.
- Mr. and Mrs. William Norris and daughter, Miss Carolyn Norris, have gone to Florida for the winter.
- Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Diehl on Sunday included Mr. and Mrs. Karl Fritz, Mr. and Mrs. George Robb of Poughkeepsie, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brate and Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Giddings.
- Coeymans Chapter, No. 464, Order of the Eastern Star conferred the Star degree on one candidate on Tuesday evening. After the close of the Chapter, refreshments were served and a social time enjoyed.
- On Oct. 24, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Pierce celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary. The color scheme gave a Halloween effect. A very pleasing evening was spent, and a buffet luncheon was served to about 20 invited guests. The gifts consisted of cut glass, silver and useful articles.
Ravena:
- The Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society will meet at the home of Mrs. Frank Schermerhorn on Friday, Nov. 21, at 3:30 p.m.
- Russell Lodge, No. 850, F & A. M., will confer the third degree on four candidates at the regular communication on Monday night.
- Two birthdays celebrated with parties during the past week were those of Louise Sunday, who was five years on Tuesday, and Marion Bleezarde, who entertained a number of school friends.
- The fifth annual Fathers and Sons banquet, held in the parlors of the Ravena Methodist church, was all that it was expected to be and a little bit more. Every available bit of space was occupied at the table. Sec. B.E. McKay was toastmaster and presided in his usual calm and droll way. The singing was snappy and entered into with vigor, under the leadership of Percy Durie.
- Fred Halsted is improving nicely at the Albany Hospital where he underwent a second operation for a hernia.
- A commodious garage is erected on the C.H. Hummer’s property on Western Avenue.

- Eggs are commanding a high price at the local market at present.
- Teachers’ meeting at the residence of Mr. B.A. TenEyck next Monday evening.
- Clipping horses in the fall and winter is going out of fashion. There is considerable feeling against it, as many believe it to be cruel.
- There will be a shooting match at Traveler’s Home, Aquetuck, Nov. 28, consisting of turkeys, chickens, pigeons and glass balls.
- J.B. Holmes & Son have the contract for roofing the Wolfe building with tin. They have the job nearly completed.
