RAVENA — The Ravena Junior Grange No. 663 has had an eventful year, with its young members busily engaging in various craft projects that culminated in impressive displays at the Altamont Fair.

The craft competition, which featured projects completed by Junior Grangers in three age divisions—5-8, 9-11, and 12-14—allowed participants to showcase their skills and creativity.

In October, the first-place winners advanced to the New York State Grange annual session held in Oswego, where they competed against Junior Grangers from across the state. The recognized winners were celebrated with ribbons and cash prizes, thanks to generous support from the Ravena Grange, the Tri-County Fair Society, and the NYS Grange. Additionally, the Albany County Pomona Grange contributed participation cash awards to recognize every participant’s effort.

This year’s creative projects included a diverse range of items, such as stuffed socks, draft stoppers, wooden table decorations, holiday luminaries, and baked goods like chocolate chip cookies.
