RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS Indians remain undefeated after Friday night’s big 48-0 shutout of Green Tech.

The hometown team came to the field ready to play and scored their first touchdown of the game with a 1-yard run by junior Ethan Green with 6:42 left on the clock in the first quarter. The kick was good, giving the Indians a 7-0 lead.

They would follow that up with another touchdown by Dominick Paljusaj to put the Indians ahead 13-0 with 3:40 left in the first. Jack McFerran would make another successful extra point kick to bring the score to 14-0.

After that, the Indians never looked back, finishing the first quarter with a 34-0 lead and wrapping up the first half with a 48-0 lead.

The defense shut down their opponents the rest of the game for the shutout victory.

The win gives the Indians a 3-0 record on the 2023 season after defeating state champions O’Neill with a 21-7 win in the first game of the season, a commanding 47-6 win against Cairo-Durham/Catskill in week 2, and now the 48-0 shutout against Green Tech. All three games so far have been played at home.

The Indians are in first place in Section 2.

The team will next play Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley in another home game on Sept. 22, beginning at 7 p.m.

There will be only two away games this season, against Hudson on Oct. 6 and Ichabod Crane in the final game of the season on Oct. 20.
