RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The Ravens’ girls’ volleyball team came up with their third win of the season in a home match Monday.

RCS skated past Berne-Knox-Westerlo in the first set 25-10, but the second match was closer, ending with the Ravens up by five points, 25-20.

With their backs against the wall, the Bulldogs took an early 6-0 lead in the third set and led the set the rest of the way, taking the win at 25-17.

But the Ravens roared back in the fourth set, leading 5-0 in the opening minutes and not looking back. The team kept their opponents in the single digits until the last few plays of the set, with RCS coming away with the set win at 25-12, handing them the match.

The final match score was Ravens 3, Bulldogs 1.

The victory brings the Ravens’ season record to 3-1. Their only loss came on opening day with a 2-3 loss to La Salle Institute. The team followed that game with three straight wins against Hoosic Valley, Cohoes, and now Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Ravens will be on the road for their next match against Troy on Tuesday.
