RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS school district invites everyone in the community to a public forum on volunteerism on Monday, Jan. 27, at the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School library.
In partnership with the town of Coeymans, RCS is hosting a community forum focused on the power of volunteerism and how everyone can work together to make a positive impact.
This event will take place from 6:30-7:45 p.m. and is designed to bring students, families, and community members together to explore volunteer opportunities, build character, contribute to strengthening local organizations, and improve the community as a whole.
Here’s what you can expect for the evening:
- Welcome & Introduction – The evening will kick off with a brief welcome, highlighting the importance of volunteerism in building pride and connection within the community. Representatives from local volunteer organizations will briefly share the scope and impact of their work.
- Interactive Brainstorming – Participants will have the chance to participate in small group discussions, exploring different ways you can volunteer, from tutoring and environmental clean-ups to helping seniors in the area.
- Building Connections – Together, participants will discuss how to link students with local volunteer opportunities, identify challenges, and come up with creative solutions to form lasting partnerships between schools, businesses, and community organizations.
- Setting Goals for the Future – The evening will wrap up with a group discussion on next steps and setting goals for future volunteer initiatives.
This is an opportunity for everyone in the community — students, families, and community members — to share ideas, connect with others, and take action toward building a stronger, more engaged community.
Space is limited, so please be sure to complete the registration form on the RCS website at rcscsd.org if you would like to attend. Once registered, you’ll receive an email confirmation.
