COEYMANS HOLLOW — An early morning fire on Monday destroyed a home at 53 Lawson Lake Road.
Members of the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation responded to the fire call at around 3 a.m. Monday. When crews arrived, the structure was fully involved but all residents of the home were able to escape the burning building uninjured, according to a statement from the fire department.
“First arriving unit Second Assistant Chief Bill Kapusta found the structure fully involved and called for immediate assistance from mutual aid companies,” according to the statement.
Fire crews battled the flames for about 45 minutes before getting the fire under control.
There were no injuries in the massive blaze.
“The family was able to get out of the house safely and no injuries were reported,” according to the department.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is under investigation.
Several fire companies responded to the mutual aid call, including Coeymans, New Baltimore, Onesquethaw, Medway-Grapeville and Westerlo. Also responding to the scene were the Ravena Rescue Squad, Albany County Paramedics, Albany County Sheriff’s Office, Coeymans Police, New York State Police and the Albany County Fire Investigation Team.
“We would like to thank all of our mutual aid agencies that responded with us this morning,” according to the department.
The fire was on the same road where another home burned down in March.
