  • Family Storytime

Thursday, March 6, from 10-11 a.m.

Family Storytime is a fun, participatory storytime for the whole family that includes songs, fingerplays, stories and movement activities. Early literacy activities are emphasized. No registration is needed.

  • After-School Art Club

Thursday, March 6, from 4-5 p.m.

The library will supply the materials and ideas for kids to unwind and get creative after school. There is no specific project or goal; instead, it’s an opportunity to gather and enjoy drawing and creating together in a relaxed setting. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org. For ages 9-13.

  • Romp and Read

Friday, March 7, from 10-11 a.m.

Romp and Read will help get the wiggles out on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. with interactive themes, stories and action songs with props. No need to register.

  • Read with Rocket

Saturday, March 8, from 1-1:45 p.m.

Come read to Rocket, a certified therapy dog who loves to cuddle and listen to children reading. Trained by Therapy Dogs International, Rocket is a great companion for kids while they practice their reading. Kids are encouraged to come to the library, grab a book (or bring their own) and get comfy while they practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in program; registration is required. For ages 5-12.

  • Library Board Meet and Greet: Candidate Information Meeting

Monday, March 10, from 6-6:30 p.m.

Are you interested in volunteering in your community? The RCS Community Library is recruiting interested district residents to serve on the library board. Come enjoy a cup of cocoa and learn how the library positively impacts residents. Enjoy a hot chocolate bar and speak with current members to better understand their role and how you can help.

  • Learn to Make Irish Soda Bread

Monday, March 10, from 6-7 p.m.

Get your Irish on and learn to make soda bread — no yeast involved. Bread and tea will be provided for tasting, along with a recipe to take home. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org.

  • Board of Trustee Meeting

Monday, March 10, from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the RCS Community Library Board of Trustees. All are welcome.

  • Romp and Read

  • Seed Sorting Party

Tuesday, March 11, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Do you like to sort and count? Want to meet other local garden enthusiasts? Help replenish the RCS Seed Library at a seed sorting party. Participants will sort and label seeds for the coming gardening season. You can also bring locally harvested, heirloom or native seeds to donate, or just show up and join in. Registration is appreciated at rcscommunitylibrary.org, but is not required. For adults.

  • Chair Yoga

Wednesday, March 12, from 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Join in at the RCS Community Library for this series of gentle chair yoga classes. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org. For adults ages 50 and up.
