- HEAP Drop-In Application Assistance
Friday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Do you need help heating your home? Come find out if you are eligible for home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) benefits, which can help eligible New Yorkers heat their homes. If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off. A representative from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be present and will meet with people individually on a first come-first serve basis. Applications will be available if you would like to complete an application on site. No registration is required. For adults.

- Saturday Fun for Families: Happy Pig Day!

Join in for this Saturday Fun for Families monthly event. This month, participants will celebrate National Pig Day with a pig storytime, pig craft and special visit from the Traveling Therapy Pigs. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org. For ages 0-8 with caregives.
- Fiber Arts Meetup
Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Unwind at an informal gathering with fellow yarn crafters to work on your projects, ask questions, get inspired, and just enjoy crafting in a group. Bring your own supplies. - Expert Encounters: Biologist, Environmental Protection Specialist
Tuesday, March 4, from 6:30-8 p.m.
In partnership with the Innovation Station, the library will be hosting a third “Expert Encounters” evening. Are you interested in wildlife biology and conservation? Do you want to hear about working with fish and bats and eagles and turtles? Melissa Toni, a biologist with the Federal Highway Administration, works to ensure that major highway and bridge projects are designed and constructed to reduce their impacts on natural resources, waterways, plants, animals, and the environment as a whole. Come learn a little about her career, wildlife biology and the environment, and how you can have a positive impact. Registration at rcscommunitylibrary.org is appreciated but not required.
- Write Together at the Library

Are you a beginning writer, or maybe working on the Great American Novel? Maybe you’re the short-story type? Prose fiction writers of all types and levels are invited to bring your notebooks, laptops or other writing implements and join in for an evening of writing together. The library will offer writing prompts, sprints, and quiet time for you to get ahead on your writing project, no matter where you are in the process.
