Family Storytime is a fun participatory storytime for the whole family that includes songs, and movement activities. Early literacy activities are emphasized. No registration is needed.

The Board of Trustee Outreach Committee will be meeting to discuss upcoming events.

  • Romp and Read

Friday, Jan. 31, from 10-11 a.m.

Romp and Read will help get the wiggles out on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. with interactive themes, stories and action songs with props. No need to register.

  • Saturday Fun for Families: Ice Cream for Breakfast Day

Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Join in the Saturday Fun for Families monthly event. This month, the library will celebrate Ice Cream for Breakfast Day and Take Your Child to the Library Day with a morning of ice cream and classic cartoons. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org. For ages 0-8 and their caregivers.

  • Fiber Arts Meetup

Saturday, Feb. 1, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Unwind at an informal gathering with fellow yard crafters to work on your projects, as questions, get inspired and just enjoy crafting in a group. Bring you own supplies. All skill levels are welcome. Join in on the first Saturday of the month. Sign up at rcscommunitylibrary.org to reserve your spot.

Local needle felting expert Donna Hamilton will teach the group how to make adorable felted hears in time for Valentine’s Day. Please bring an open heart-shaped cookie cutter if you have one. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org. For adults.

  • Chair Yoga

Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 10:30-11:15 a.m.

This winter, the library is changing things up a little! Come to the RCS Community Library for this series of gentle chair yoga classes. Registration is required at rcscommunitylibrary.org. For adults ages 50 and up.

  • Senior Cinema: ‘Marry Me’

Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 2-3:30 p.m.

Music superstars Kat Valdez and Bastian are getting married before a global audience of fans. But when Kat learns, seconds before her vows, that Bastian has been unfaithful, she decides to marry Charlie, a stranger in the crowd. Rated PG-13. For adults.

  • Read with Rocket!

Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 4:4:45 p.m.

Come read to Rocket — a certified therapy dog who loves to cuddle and loves to listen to children reading. Trained by Therapy Dogs International, Rocket is a great companion for kids while they practice their reading. Kids are encouraged to come to the library, grab a book (or bring one of their own) and get comfy while they practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in program; no registration is required. For ages 5-12.
