- Hip and Knee Pain Management

Creaky knees? Pain in your hips? Kevin Paulsen from Sunnyview Delmar will share about managing those aches and pains. After sharing an abundance of information about back pain earlier this year, Paulsen will come back and this time with a focus on hip and knee pain. The program will start with some basic anatomy of the hip and knee, then move on to what occurs when you experience pain (like arthritis) of these joints, and the program will conclude with possible treatment options, including how physical therapy can benefit these conditions. - HEAP Drop-In Application Assistance
Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Do you need help heating your home? Come find out if you are eligible for Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) benefits which can help eligible New Yorkers heat their homes. If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off. A representative from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be present and will meet with people individually on a first come-first serve basis. Applications willb e available if you would like to complete an application on site. No registration is required.

- Medicare 101: Understanding Medicare

The Medicare annual enrollment period will be here soon. Learn about what’s new for 2025 with local expert Kristine Lindskoog. She will explain what Medicare is, who is eligible, and how and when to enroll in Medicare. She’ll also discuss the new changes coming for 2025 with Medicare and how it may affect your current coverage. She will also go over programs for people with limited resources. - Expert Encounter: Meet an Engineer

Dr. Sitaram Arkalgud, vice president of Technology at TEL Technologies Center America (TTCA) works on 3DI and heterogenous integration and holds more than 70 patents — many of which are in advanced packaging. What does that mean? Come find out! Learn about materials engineering, applications for semiconductors, and more. Thank you to the Ravena Innovation Station for organizing this STEM career exploration event designed to offer young people the opportunity to learn about STEM careers from experts in their fields. This non-traditional “book club” has no required reading and no book discussion. Instead, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the company of others without the pressure of conversation. Simply bring a book that you’re reading (or have been meaning to read), join in the library’s comfy chairs and settle in for some uninterrupted reading while in the presence of others. Covered beverages are also welcome. No registration required.
