Child struck by car on Main Street

RAVENA — A child was hit by a car on Main Street in the village on Sunday afternoon, according to a statement from the Ravena Fire Department.

The department was dispatched just before 3 p.m. Sunday to the scene at 20 Main St., according to the department. When a responding crew arrived, EMTs were already treating the individual.

The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment by the Ravena Rescue Squad.

“Upon arrival, crews found one patient that had been struck by a vehicle and already in the care of EMS,” according to the fire department. “One child was transported to a local hospital by the Ravena Rescue Squad.”

The identity and condition of the child was not released and there is no additional information available at this time.

Also responding to the scene of the accident were Albany County EMS, the Coeymans Police Department and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident is under investigation by law enforcement.
