Boys’ basketball takes first win of season

RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — The RCS Indians boys’ basketball team got their first win of the season Tuesday on their home court against Cobleskill-Richmondville.

The Indians won in overtime by a score of 57-53.

The game was forced into overtime thanks to junior Eddie Reville, who was on fire in the second half, scoring 8 points in the fourth quarter and 15 points in the game.

The contest was close from the start. At the end of the fourth quarter, the Indians and the Bulldogs were all tied up at 46 before the hometown team would outscore their opponent with 11 points to Cobleskill-Richmondville’s 7 in the overtime period.

Reville was the highest scoring Indian in the contest. Nick Gibney scored 11, Wyatt Algozzine scored 9, Thomas Burns and Jack Reif scored 8 each, Jack McFerran 4, and Joseph Touzin 2.

The win put the Indians’ overall record this season at 1-4, with a 1-2 in-league record.

The Indians will next play Schalmont in an away game Friday at 6:30 p.m. and will then host Cohoes on Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. on their home court.
