BETHLEHEM — The Bethlehem Central girls’ tennis team took home the Section II championship last Saturday.
The team went unbeaten during the regular season and won the Section II championship after defeating Saratoga 8-1 on Oct. 14, followed by a 5-2 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in a sub-regional championship game Oct. 15, according to the district.
At press time the team was scheduled to take on the Section III champion on Oct. 22 at Central Park in Schenectady. The game was played too late for publication in this week’s issue of the Ravena News-Herald, and the opponent had not yet been determined at press time.
If the team does defeat the Section III champs, Bethlehem Central would return to the state championships, which will be held in Flushing Meadows in Queens, New York.
