RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — After two shutout wins in the first week of October, the RCS girls’ varsity soccer team dropped a pair to the two top teams in the Colonial Council, one at home and one on the road.

The Ravens blanked Lansingburgh 7-0 on Oct. 4 in an away match, and three days later picked up another shutout 3-0 against Chatham.

But the two-game winning streak would be short-lived when they faced off against top-ranked powerhouse Schalmont on the road, losing 3-1, and on Oct. 10 was defeated by second-place Voorheesville in a close match, 2-1.

The Ravens have an overall 9-4 record on the season and a 7-4 conference record, putting them in fourth place in the Colonial Council.

Three more regular season games are scheduled for this week. On Monday, the Ravens will face off against Voorheesville in an away match, and on Tuesday and Thursday the team is set to wrap up the regular season on their home field against Ichabod Crane and Academy of the Holy Names.
