Acomb’s winning streak continues

RAVENA-COEYMANS-SELKIRK — Jayden Acomb’s winning streak on the wrestling mat continued at the King Bison Invitational when he took first place in his weight class.

Acomb’s season has been nearly one long winning streak. So far this season he has had 26 victories, and just five losses. From Jan. 15 to Jan. 25, he went undefeated against 13 opponents.

At the King Bison Invitational, Acomb won first place in the 131-pound weight class, defeating five straight wrestlers.

Also placing in the tournament were Carter Castagna, taking third place in the 108-pound weight class; Owen Greene in fourth at 116 pounds; Kellen Houghtaling in fourth at 170; Ethan Green in fifth at 190; Brock Larsen in seventh at 124; Aiden Miner in seventh at 145 pounds; and Finnigan Wickware in seventh at 160.

Overall, the RCS wrestling team came in seventh place, scoring 85 points, among the 15 participating teams.
