HUDSON–Richard “Dick” C. Frederick, 71, of Greenport, died Thursday, December. 17, 2009 at Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born November 3, 1938 in Allentown, Penn., he was the son of the late Agnes and Charles Frederick.
Mr. Frederick was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy Class of 1956.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958.
Mr. Frederick worked for Pitcher’s Auto Supply in Hudson and then opened his own business, Dick’s Automotive in Greenport.
He was a member of Holy Family Church in Stottville; a charter member and assistant chief of the Greenport Pumper Co. #3, and a member and past Commodore of the Hudson Power Boat Association.
Mr. Frederick enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, car shows, and going to Atlantic City.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. (Lasher) Frederick; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Terri Frederick; three grandchildren, Matthew Schroeder, and his wife, Shannon, of Catskill, Mezmarie and Mavist Frederick, both of Hudson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Anna Frederick of Allentown and Arlen and Sue Frederick of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Two brothers, Robert Frederick and William Quier, and his aunt, Helen (Herman) Pulcher, died previously.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today (Friday) at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
