CATSKILL–Antonina Piszak, 86, of Greenport, died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Kaaterskill Care Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Born August 15, 1923 in Budiliv, Ukraine, she was the daughter of Anthony Sadiwnyk and Eugenia (Kuszpinsky) Sadiwnyk, and wife of the late Bohdan Piszak.
Mrs. Piszak was the devoted mother and mother-in-law of Mary and David Krein of Germantown; loving grandmother of David Krein, Jr. of Germantown, Christine Ribaudo of Morris Plains, N.J., and Michael Krein of Troy; and caring great-grandmother of Daniel Ribaudo of N.J., David Krein, III of Germantown, Charlotte Ribaudo of N.J., and Maria Krein of Germantown.
Mrs. Piszak worked for many years as a seamstress in Hudson.
She was an avid gardener and loved to read.
Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, with the Celebration of Panachyda at 5 p.m.
A Panachyda service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hudson.
Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Germantown.
