VALATIE–Clara M. Stockman, 82, of Valatie, went to be with the Lord in the early hours of November 20, 2009, surrounded by her family at Barnwell Nursing Canter.
Born in Lamberton, Chautauqua County, November 11, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Winifred (Locey) Mann.
Mrs. Stockman was a housewife and worked for Fort Orange Paper Co. in Castleton as a clerical worker. She was a member of the Stuyvesant Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years. She was an avid bowler.
She leaves behind seven daughters: Patricia (Ronald) Barber of Castleton, Kathy (Fred) Cohn of Stuyvesant, Karen Stockman (Ed Oliver) of Castleton, Donna (Vincent) Jornov of Stuyvesant, Bonnie (Stanley) Smith of Kinderhook, JoFern (Gary) Talarico of Craryville, June Gansowski (Davld Eaves) of Chatham; her loving companion of almost 30 years, Clarence (Chippy) Lebrecht; his two sons, Clarence “Punk” (Karen Lumley) Lebrecht, Jr,, Gordon “Gordie” (Krista Clark) Lebrecht; 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Ruth Metz, Ella Kirsch, Virginia Stoliker and Ralph Mann and the sister-in-law Shirley Stockman. In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Joseph Stockman, her brother Richard Mann, and her sister Ethel Martin, died previously.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Valatie with the service conducted by Vicar Dan Cohn. Burial will be in St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Valatie. Friends may call Monday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
