Stanley “Flip” Smith, 81, loved riding his Harley-Davidson

ALBANY–Stanley L. (Flip) Smith, 81, of Kinderhook, died Thursday April 8, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Born in Albany March 24, 1929, he was the son of the late car1 and Adwilda (Cooke) Smith. Mr. Smith was a self employed truck driver. Growing up in Albany, he was a great athlete who loved riding his Harley-Davidson.

He is survived by a son, Stanley L. Smith Jr. (Bonnie) of Kinderhook; a sister, Adwilda Dyson (Henry) of Silver Springs, Md.; a special friend, Bobbie Balfort of Stuyvesant Falls; two grandchildren, Tanya Robinson and Christina Codington; four great grandchildren, Tylar, Ryan, Madisyn and Makenna; one niece, Carolyn Young; and two nephews, Henry Harrison Dyson 3rd and Gregory R. Dyson.

A memorial service will be private at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
